Brakes are the one system you cannot afford to ignore. Worn pads can add significant distance to your stopping distance — the difference between a near-miss and a collision. If you hear squealing, grinding, or feel vibration or pulling when braking, those are clear signs that something needs attention.

Tyres — Fitting, Alignment & Tread Checks
Tyres are your only contact with the road, and their condition directly affects grip, handling, and safety. The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre, but grip starts to drop noticeably below 3mm — especially in wet conditions.
Uneven tyre wear is a common sign of alignment issues, suspension wear, or incorrect pressures. If your tyres are wearing faster on one edge, or the car pulls to one side, an alignment check can identify and correct the problem before you need premature replacements.
