Can every blocked DPF be fixed with a forced regeneration?
No. A forced regeneration should follow diagnosis, because soot loading is only one possible part of a DPF problem.
Before recommending forced DPF regeneration, we check differential pressure, temperature sensors, stored faults and the engine conditions required to complete the process safely. A failed sensor, boost leak, injector issue or another engine fault can stop normal regeneration and quickly block the filter again.
We also consider whether the restriction is caused mainly by burnable soot or non-combustible ash. If regeneration is appropriate, readings are checked again afterwards. If it is not, we explain whether further diagnosis, professional cleaning or repair is the more sensible route.
